I flew out to Charleston a few weeks ago, right smack dab when Hurricane Irene was scheduled to arrive. Luckily, she (why are storms always "shes"?) stayed out at sea and all we got were some really cool clouds and a day with no beach…literally. While I was there I got to photograph two hilarious and very different babies, Ayden and Jack. Jack (in the checkered outfit) is a total camera hog and cheeses it up big time while Ayden makes you work a little for the shot you want and giggles knowing he just wiggled his way out of the photo. The payoff of laying, rolling, jumping, clapping, acting like a giant re-donk-a-saurous rex is….you get raw photos of boys being boys. I wouldn't trade one sweat bead for the smiles I see on mommies faces when they see their photos for the first time. Ok. Now that I'm done rambling (can you tell I love what I do :) I'll move on to the photos of my new favorite city, Charleston, South Carolina.
Ayden JUST learned to crawl. I love how he sticks his tongue out when he is about to laugh!
Seabrook Island, where my friend Jamie lives.
How'd you like that view from your back porch? Pure jealously right here.
Now these were taken as the giant hurricane cloud rolled up. Surfers were running to the water to hit the giant, dangerous, killer waves. I stuck my toes in. The second photo is back on Seabrook Island. We went down to the beach with our tubes and all and the beach was literally eaten by the water.
Boardwalk at night (You can see Jamie in the white dress waiting on me patiently)
Thanks for letting me share, ::Laurie::
